A Quote by Muhammad Yunus on business, success, how to succeed, poverty, and grameen

Business is about problem-solving, but it does not always have to be about maximizing profit. When I went into business, my interest was to figure out how to solve problems I see in front of me. That's why I looked at the poverty issue. I got involved in lots of things to address it, and one of them was money lending with loans and credits and savings accounts, and in the process I created Grameen Bank. So you can also have social objectives. Ask yourself these questions: Who are you? What kind of world do you want?

I truly like this quote.

I tend to believe that solution-finding will bring profits at the end of the day. it may be solutions to poverty (grameen bank and bob proctor), solutions to empathy (hi brian), or solutions to tax issues (is there a single CPA on this site? lol)

hi everyone,
oops…
years ago i used to ,……before i became as i am,……and changed, becoming Shaman,…….to teach in university.in a Business School.with a formidable reputation for innovation.in fact we wereat the leading edge then..when leading edges werent where it was at..things have changed, but i digress..
in the business school i taught creativty and innovation, which was seriously not where it was then, leading and groundbreaking and setting the pace……. visionary.
so the next step was to become as Shaman do vision.it was quite a journey.a very long and hazardous journey.and no Mescalin.

anyhow ,business, when iwas teaching business skilss and corporate strategy ,i'd often find myself mouthing the mantra.the business mantra…the purpose of a busines is to make a profit..wrong!
businesspurpose isnt about profit, its about inspiration.and that friends is awhole ,and very very different thing .so different ,its one of the differences which makes all.
Making all content:humanising, is one of the features of good business,………….finds solutions..thats quite different from solving problems ,and its a difference which is difficult to get,but essentail

The astounding success of the Gameen Bank is a classic example of natural paradox in action.  Muhammad Yunus took decisions that defied the then current and predominant logic - with the underlying drive being on “the reason why” without having to know “The How”. There are fabulous examples of this in his book Banker to the Poor. Also, as Yunus's efforts grew, synchronicities occurred to facilitate the process - one example being that he took shelter in a cafe during an uprising and found he shared the room with a man who later would hold a prominent position in the new government and who later assisted in the growth of the bank.

Without needing to know “How it will happen”, just dare to take a step into a small aspect of the dream that touches your passion, and the events will unfold to support you!

Honey it is not just business that is problem solving all of life is problem solving one day at a time.  I don't know the bank but if they have the right ethics and doing the right thing they will prosper.

Yes, have heard of this facility and understand it and it's management to be comendable for ethical business practices.
Cant say as much for, possibly all the others. Have been hearing adds for 24 months interest free loans with the applicants only finding difficulty with re payments. These institutions are only creating a rod for our back as well as the obvious victim.
Not believing such lending institutions fit to be among us. Paracitic by nature. Do or say any thing to extricate bucks from those most vulnerable with a view to enriching their own coffers. When i hear an add saying 24 months interest free, i am thinking, what paracitic letch do we have here. Also, the predominance of loans to known loan defaulters. Obviously these people experience difficulty in managing their resources, but, there the parasites are, like vultures, ready to swoop at the 1st opportune moment. What i would like to express on this topic, i would not choose to defile the pages of Zaadz with. Vile, wretched creatures.
